MoCA\CT is located in the charming coastal town of Westport, CT, just an hour and a half north of New York City. Visitors can explore contemporary art, enjoy our two-acre Sculpture Garden, and take in the nearby restaurants, shops, and scenic shoreline. MoCA\CT offers a welcoming space for all to experience creativity and inspiration.

By Train from New York City
Take Metro-North’s New Haven Line from Grand Central Terminal (or Harlem-125th Street) to the Westport Station (1 Railroad Place). The ride is typically around 1 hour 15 minutes, depending on the train.
From the station, take a 10–15 minute car ride (via Uber, Lyft, or local taxi) for the approximately 3.8 mile trip to MoCA\CT at 19 Newtown Turnpike. We recommend arranging your ride in advance, especially during evenings and weekends when car availability may be limited.
By Train from New Haven
Take Metro-North’s New Haven Line from New Haven Union Station toward Grand Central Terminal and disembark at the Westport Station (1 Railroad Place). The ride is typically about 1 hour, depending on the specific train and stops.
From the Westport Station, use a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft (or a local taxi, if available) for the short 3.8 mile drive, which usually takes 10–15 minutes, to MoCA\CT at 19 Newtown Turnpike. As with visitors from New York City, we recommend planning your car or rideshare connection ahead of time for a smoother trip.
By Car via I-95
By Car via the Merritt Parkway
From New York City (southbound to northbound): Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Route 33/Wilton Road and continue approximately 1.8 miles; MoCA\CT will be on your left at 19 Newtown Turnpike.
From New Haven (northbound to southbound): Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Route 33/Wilton Road and continue about 2 miles; MoCA\CT will be on your left at 19 Newtown Turnpike.

Day Trip
MoCA\CT is located in coastal Fairfield County, surrounded by beaches, parks, and cultural destinations that make for a full day of art and exploration. Visitors might pair a museum visit with a walk at Compo Beach or Sherwood Island State Park, a stroll through downtown Westport’s shops and cafés, a program at the Westport Library, an exhibition at the Westport Museum for History and Culture, or a performance at Westport Country Playhouse.
You can also combine MoCA\CT with visits to other regional museums, such as the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, or the Fairfield University Art Museum and the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts, for a multi-stop arts itinerary.
